We have all heard of that classic love story, in fact most of us have all experience this story first hand. 1 Night comes at this story in a completely new and unique way that you’d never expect. This film does an excellent job at showing that love is not as black and white as we try to make it out to be. This cute indie movie goes more in-depth than your usual romantic drama. The realistic relationships made this movie very relatable. Kyle Allen and Isabelle Fuhrman are a childhood friends who spark their relationship at prom. Anna Camp and Justin Chatwin are a disheveled older couple who are trying to get their relationship back on track. 1 Night explores the issues that couples must overcome, whether it be starting a new relationship or keeping an old relationship alive. The contrast between the older and younger couples have playful elements that I think make it relatable for every age. The chemistry between the couples seems really authentic, which makes this film even more candid. 1Night takes a sharp left turn in its last 10 minutes of runtime but it only adds to the drama that conspires initially in the film. Set during the course of--yes--one single night, audience members watch as two teens fall in love and two adults reminisce about their past in order to salvage what's left of their marriage. First time director Minhal Baig does an incredible job in 1 Night Movie by adding a refreshing mix to the overdone romantic drama with awesome cinematography, fantastic acting, & your not-so-average love story setting. Not to mention the notable cast & amazing soundtrack, this film charmed me in all aspects & is a great, coming of age movie that stands alone in this genre. The awkwardness Isabelle Fuhrman & Kyle Allen display add a layer of spunk, while the undeniable chemistry Anna Camp & Justin Chatwin share contrast with each other to add a layer of entertainment.
