I was lucky enough to see a production of the play "A Kid Like Jake" (from where the movie came from) at our local LGBTQ theater company last year. It is an amazing story. The one big difference I see in the play and the movie is that in the play, Jake is never seen. And I'm not sure if that isn't better -- that people can form their own ideas on Jake without actually seeing him. But I can't wait to see this. It will interesting to compare.
