Zack Mayo is a young man who has signed up for Navy Aviation Officer Candidate School. He is a Navy brat who has a bad attitude problem. Gunnery Sergeant Emil Foley is there to train and evaluate him, and will clearly find Zack wanting. Zack meets Paula, a girl who has little beyond family, and must decide what it is he wants to do with his life.

A truly exceptional film. It always beats the usual "shaky cam" experience we're so used to putting up with nowadays whilst these modern day film makers (con artists) pocket our cash by making cheap "exhausting and nauseating" make-do's. The only thing about this film that I thought was unfortunate was that they did not develop the Lisa Ellenburger character, Seegur, any more than they did. In fact, Ellenburger was a body-builder and could easily have run circles around the other actors in that obstacle course, yet they portrayed her as being physically too weak to get over the climbing wall. - @Friday, August 19, 2011 7:00 PM
