Watched this movie last night, as a double feature with "Suicide Squad:Hell to Pay". I decided not to watch this movie until I've read the book. Now that I've done both, I gotta say this is probably the loosest adaptation of the graphic novel I've ever seen. While I think the animation is stellar, the voice acting and cast is phenomenal, and the action scenes are absolutely fantastic, I think what this movie suffers from is taking so many liberties with its source material. I mean the GN isn't really that long, its basically 2 stories, but I don't think taking liberties means jamming a shitload of Batman Easter Eggs. Also the twist towards the end really butchered a certain character. I won't say who it is, but you'll get the idea. Overall, despite its faults, I found the movie very entertaining. This is a new and different take on Batman, and it works. I wasn’t sure about a Batman 1920’s story but it was pretty freaking good. In this story we see Batman take on the notorious Jack The Ripper. I will tell you one thing this movie takes on a twist that you will not see coming. I really enjoyed this movie, the story, voice cast and animation is great this is a movie for die-hard Batman fans/superhero/dc fans that want to see a new and fresh take on The Dark Knight. DC has hit Marvel level & that's a bad thing. Taking your superheroes and jumping them around to different time periods is pathetic. It's one of the things that killed marvel.
