Such a weird choice to use Batman/Batgirl romantic drama, to try and flesh out the character, before Barbara retires and gets paralyzed. You needed the beginning to be lighter and less controversial, in order to set-up the inevitable tragedy. It's just basic storytelling. Major Spoiler alert but I just read an article that showed a GIF of Batgirl kissing Batman and then tearing off her Batgirl suit!! I've already heard that some fans don't like them being romantically involved b/c he's much older than she is and he is usually very reluctant to engage in romance. I really like the addition to the story b/c it deepens the emotional bond and affects Batman much more seriously when Barbara is shot.
