"Birdshot" is a mystery-thriller film that tells a story of a young Filipina farm girl who wanders into the boundaries of a Philippine reservation forest. Deep within the reservation she mistakenly shoots and kills a critically endangered and protected Philippine Eagle. As the local authorities begin a manhunt to track down the poacher of a national bird, their investigation leads them to an even more horrific discovery.

I just saw this movie yesterday and I regret not seeing this in theaters dahil puro pelikula lang ng big cinema producers ang pinapanood in our area nung lumabas to. Limited lang yung screening. No wonder it was nominated in Oscar. Dapat mga ganitong klase ng pelikula ang pinapalabas ng mga big companies MAKABULUHAN. This is the kind of movie na dapat sinusuportahan at tinatangkilik. Overall maganda ang movie, acting at cinematography. May ilang komento lang ako sa storya: una hindi naman nabigyan ng hustisya yung mga magsasaka, bitin ang ending! Pangalawa, nakakainis yung karakter ni Diego hinayaan nya lang maging mangmang yung anak nya. Hindi namang mahirap na sabihing bawal bumaril ng haribon! Ilang beses tinanong ni Maya kung mali ba yung nagawa nya, hindi nya tinuturuan yung anak nya tungkol sa realidad sa mundo, masyado syang protective. Just saw the film, and I think, It is overrated because we know that Philippine Cinema these days are just making loads of crap movies, im talking about the rom-com movies, that just revolves around betrayal among partners, having a third party, and other crap just to gain money, and seeing a local indie film like this makes us rejoice and have hope for the future of the Philippine cinema, just like other people are saying, “we should make movies like this more, not those crappy rom-com movies”. But then upon watching the film, it left me feeling disappointed, I didn’t feel any sense of catharsis towards the end, Although I know not all films do that. My point was it was just messy, although I understand the themes of the story, like being innocent and being eaten up by the system, and amidst of the beautiful nature lies a dreadful and corrupt system that leads to troubles. On Domingo a rookie cop who was innocent and was obsessed to solve the bus case, at some pont he was already eaten up and controlled by the corrupt system of his partner and his collegues. Maya who was at the brink of her maturity wanting to prove to her father that she can live on her own, accidentally killed a bird. I just didn’t understand the main point of the film, it felt like it was trying to tell themes, but it cannot tell it in a smooth way, rather a messy one. Like the bus case? what was that all about, was it just a setup for the Domingo’s character and for the ending. The massacre? who did that shit? does it really matter. I already read some analysis of the film but I feel like I was still missing the point of the story. But i like to commend the performances and the cinematography. I feel like they’re just forcing themselves to love the movie, even though they thorougly didn’t get it. - @Saturday, April 7, 2018 3:56 PM

Kakatapos ko lang manood ng Pelikulang eto. Boring ang Pelikula. Mabagal ang kwento ng pelikula. Hindi maganda amg mga diyalogo na ginamit sa Pelikula. Hindi nabigyan ng hustisya ang Plot ng story.
