In this classic Agatha Christie detective story, former diplomat Charles Hayward has returned from Cairo to London to become a private detective. When Aristide Leonides, a wealthy and ruthless tycoon, is poisoned in his own bed, Detective Hayward is invited to solve the crime. As the investigation deepens he must confront the shocking realization that one of the key suspects is Aristede's beautiful granddaughter, his employer and former lover; and must keep a clear head to navigate the sultry Sophia and the rest of her hostile family.

Pretty good movie! I'm very glad there's finally going to be a new film version of Christie's Crooked House. The novel the author herself said was one of her own personal favorites and it's certainly been one of my favorite Christie novels. I thought the first trailer for this was terrific but I also like this one because there were some scenes that weren't in the first trailer. I'm excited to see this than the upcoming film version of MOTOE even though I still intend to see this. I plan to reread Crooked House before the film comes to theaters in the USA as well as reread MOTOE and watch the definitive 1974 film version with Albert Finney. I've always been a huge fan of Agatha Christie and absolutely loved the 2015 three-part TV version of And Then There Were None. Can't wait to see this film, although I know who "dunnit" having read the novel years ago. (Surprisingly for Agatha Christie, it was pretty obvious who "dunnit" too, due to a blatantly unsubtle clue at one point in the story.
