It feels like Lars von Trier wanted to see how a dreamer like Selma and Bjork reacts to difficulties.. But von Trier intrntionally made the situation as harder as he could to Selma / Bjork, till the last scene, just to see her in difficulty, he intentionally choosed to make the movir end like this. He has been psychollogically abusive to her, and this is noticeable in the movie - @Wednesday, September 19, 2018 4:36 PM

Just watched the movie and yeah it really effected me, my eyes was wet the whole time and i was afraid someone will enter my room and see my condition i mean i was sobbing as there was many realistic scene. one of the reason it really effected me since i can relate somehow to the character as my eyes getting worse every day and i know i cant work after couple of years so i was saving money to buy a house and rent it so at least i can live with the rent money without asking help from someone, i recently dismissed from my job unfortunately but luckily i made a game and published it on steam and hopefully my next game will be enough for me to build the house. i reached 29 years old i guess and i forgot the idea of finding a girl and get married or have a life. people tell me why you are still single and you have everything you need to get married i can just tell them its too early since its a lot easier to get ride of such question. people can't understand your situation since you look super fine to them but from inside you are as empty as an egg shell and since you know no one can really understand you as Selma so she/i just kept everything inside as it doesn't matter anyway. thats why she said at the end to her friend that his boy need his eyes more than his mother but i believe that was super sad since she could just said the truth from beginning and let her boy have both eyes and her mother. Very powerful movie added to my all time favorite list. - @Thursday, November 30, 2017 10:23 PM

Incredible movie, but... godawful trailer that spoils _literally_ everything that _can_ be spoiled. Don't watch this trailer, just trust me and watch the movie, preferably with a friend ready to talk to when it's over. - @Saturday, November 18, 2017 2:47 PM

This movie was not as sad and depressing as it's made out to be. To be honest she DID kill a police officer in a horrible and violent way, and she didn't have to. So it was kind of hard to feel sorry for her. Also it's hard to take Bjork seriously as an actress. Yo do feel bad for her because she's going blind but she DID have a choice to go seek help. The plot seemed to unrealistic and far-fetched. She was definitely not a hero in my book. The film just didn't do it for me. - @Tuesday, November 7, 2017 5:28 AM

A strong story behind the film and actors also perform very good. But why the so much zigzag of camera? I just started watching and am afraid that it will blind me throughout the end. Another thing that I could not understand is why this lady goes to US for the operation, where misrable welfare and health care exists? - @Monday, October 16, 2017 8:04 AM
