It is alright. I watched the extended version and conversations went on to long about nothing to do with the story itself. Also the sound was off kept turning it up for dialogue but turning it down for the music. The music didn’t fit the movie at times. The Death scenes where cool. The killer at the end was a surprise but I missed the motive in the killings probably because I couldn’t hear what they were saying. I tried to put subtitles on but it didn’t work for this film for some reason. This movie I give two out of five creepy walking dolls. - @Monday, June 11, 2018 5:41 PM

This was the first movie we ever taped (years and years ago when we purchased our first video tape recorder) and I remember watching one scene - frame by frame - to see if I could see the face of the murderer reflected in the mirror towards the end. I did - it was so brief (only 2 frames), it would have been impossible to see it played at normal time on the television. I really do like this movie though - even though it is very "camp" there are sections in it that are genuinely scary. - @Thursday, October 24, 2013 5:32 AM

I love Argento and really looked forward to watching this film. But was ultimately disappointed by it. Another example of cool trailer, bad film. - @Wednesday, July 17, 2013 4:55 PM

Also,I remember the radio ad for DEEP RED in 1976.It reused the "It's Only A Movie" tag that LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT started. - @Tuesday, October 2, 2012 11:17 PM

Goblin's score really adds to the excitement.Love Roscoe's voice on the trailer.I found a DVD with DEEP RED and LAST MAN ON EARTH,the copy of DEEP RED has a great meld of English and scenes only used on the Italian version with subtitles,it runs 140 minutes. - @Tuesday, October 2, 2012 11:11 PM

Nine years ago, I became a huge fan of Dario Argento and the entire Giallo subgenre of horror. It started with the Limited Edition of SUSPIRIA (my second favorite horror movie of all time), and then I went on to INFERNO and DEEP RED! DEEP RED is my all-time favorite Giallo; I love it so much that I bought the Blu-Ray edition last year! - @Tuesday, October 2, 2012 6:40 PM

@romancandlefight Did you know that the director, Dario Argento, used to play the killer's gloved hands in some of his movies? All that stuff in Deep Red is him! - @Thursday, October 6, 2011 2:56 AM

themirrorsofmymind
@chapstradamus I don't think there is a name for that tune. It's something from the past that the killer becomes obsessed with in the story... It's one of the clues that Marcus follows to solve the mystery. - @Thursday, October 6, 2011 2:46 AM

@SECappelletti That's just ignorant. The problem is not who's making the movies, the problem is who isn't buying them. There are plenty of American filmmakers who can make badass horror. - @Friday, June 24, 2011 2:58 AM
