In the year 2154, two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Delacourt, a government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn't stop the people of Earth from trying to get in by any means they can. When unlucky Max is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that, if successful, will not only save his life but could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

Se parece mucho a lo que ocurre hoy en día, multimillonarios que podrían hacer tantas cosas y solo mueren con su fortuna. I wanna see part 2 where it Continues from Kruger falling an freeing the grenade after which continued falling an yet survived... Crawled to a healing bed and boom.... Mega Kruger... Who then takes over Elysium...now hell bent on revenge and madness.. He goes after spider and the girlfriend and attacks earth now..turns the droids into a mini army... Uses the healing beds to achieve immortality by laying in it too long and which has developed into a permanent healing factor.. So earth retaliates but is unaware of his evolution or anything else he did being they thought he was dead.. So after they muster every resource available and every last militarized person is left aftera drawn out fight they are left with a small squad of a few elite who came thru in the chaos, then corners Kruger which leads into a massive high tech fight. right when they strike him down, they find out he's evolved which they didn't know before an he heals... But is also enhanced mechanically, Right there and now they're fucked... Out of ideas.. Dieing one by one... Till the last man finally kills Kruger an no energy left exhausted an drained falls to a knee... Kruger dies an Then the real Kruger walks in.. An just.. Laughs.. Clapping and congratulating him for "almost" killing him... Lol 😂 Shocked an out of energy last man can't even get up.. Kruger comes over an smiles an then beheads the last squad member down.. Meanwhile earths president was watching and hangs up.., Kruger who was in the healing bed the entire time...it zooms in on Kruger face and he just Laughs with his crazy split minded laugh, an then it just cuts to black an credits come up.... I just recently re-watched this movie - the plot's premise makes absolutely no sense. If the Elysium government is able to produce these magic machines that cure all diseases in such great numbers that every Elysium citizen has one in their living room, and they're having to fend off spaceships full of poor people who are gate-crashing onto Elysium to use these machines - then why on earth wouldn't the Elysium government simply _give_ a few dozen of these machines to the poor citizens on Earth? It would be in the Elysium government's best interest to hand over a few dozen machines to Earth because it would stop the Earth citizens from trying to break into Elysium and terrifying the Elysium citizens. If the machines cost a lot of money or resources to make then the Elysium government would recoup those costs from the money they'd save from not having to constantly defend the station. Everybody would win in that scenario because the poor Earth citizens would have access to magic disease-curing machines and wouldn't have to risk their lives in order to use them, and the Elysium government wouldn't have to waste time and resources repelling Earth interlopers. It's a perfect example of how a selfish act could result in a benefit for everyone. This is pretty much what happens at the end of the movie anyway, but it never explains why exactly the Elysium government were so opposed to it in the first place. If this movie was trying to make some sci-fi allegorical social commentary on free healthcare in present day America, it made a laughably bad job of it. The only valid message it can make is "If magic machines that could cure any disease without any cost or energy existed, we could all have free healthcare!" It's like....yeah, it could. _If_ those machines existed. Which they don't. I'm not even saying I'm against free healthcare, just that this movie makes an embarrassingly bad argument for it.
