I think it's less about AI and more about 3rd/4th wave feminism. All it tries to do is manshaming. The ending/act is quite disturbing with this view. If it was only about AI there could have been at least one male counterpart but no it has to be war of the genders even if it's a robot. Why not make genderless robots? Sly A.I. A robot that tricked a human. They always do that though, don't they ? (Blade Runner 1982 - Do androids dream of electric sheep 1968) This movie was no different except the whole movie was a build up to the trick/con reveal. Im guessing a lot of people guessed the ending too or definitely considered it as a possible outcome. I liked the 2013 movie The Machine more than this film. Neither films are amazing though. I found this film to be rather dull as sci-fi goes, and pretty mainstream. Im guessing most people prefer this film to the 2013 movie The Machine. Blade Runner 1982 blows this film away in my opinion. Blade Runner the theatrical cut. The version that DOESN'T tell the audience for sure whether Deckard is either human or a replicant. Do androids dream of electric sheep is as interesting as the Blade runner movie but just in a different way.. Deckard is human in the novel, but after killing replicants he starts to question what it really is or means to be human, because hes killing, while the replicants are showing signs or feelings of empathy and compassion. It was only once she escaped that she realized she actually loved Caleb, as can be seen when she’s walking alone in the intersection, looking at couples.
