River Of Blacklights

Had put this on my Netflix "list" of things to watch and I just barely finished watching it a few moments ago. This film itself is not "great" by any means but, it's not as bad as some are making it out to be either. To me, this film could almost be a sort of "prequel" to _'The Matrix'._ Back when human society began it's revolt against the machines (as seen in _'The Animatrix'_ short) and began to hunt them down, which led to the machines fleeing, building their own cities and eventually declaring all out war against the humans who created them. It's a relatively "o.k." film but, there are some blatant "eyeroll, facepalm, smh" moments in there that make you wonder what the writers were thinking to include scenes like that in their script. It's worth watching just for kicks but, anyone looking for some serious sci-fi action/adventure material should look elsewhere cause they won't find it in this. Approach with very low expectations and the ability to accept things for what they are, not basing expectations on what they aren't... - @Monday, November 19, 2018 2:29 AM

the 'elites' refer to us as 'monkeys'. once the plot twist revealed that they are synthetics, the little 'girl' whose favorite toy is a talking monkey soured even more the revealed premise I had already spent an hour 15 minutes watching. if I would've known this was a movie to make us feel empathy for synthetics, I wouldn't have wasted my time. if anything, my resolve is more firm against A.I./transhumanism/synthetic robotoids, etc.... the 'elite'(demonic psychopathic parasites) absolutely must be removed from this planet as quickly as possible. they've been moving forward at a sickeningly impressive rate with their psychotic plans. - @Saturday, November 10, 2018 9:02 AM

I am pro a.i. death so I have no compassion for the characters in this movie. They start the movie as if their exposing some kind of " truth " about a possible invasion in the future, which I do believe will happen and not by alien's by any means, so moving on. They then turn it into this pro a.i. movement in the twist to try and pull on your heart strings about a.i. and having compassion for them and giving them rights too, excuse me, conditioning anyone?? There is so much about this film, that is nonsense. !SPOILER ALERT! Peter, is an Android, emulating 'real human' every day lifestyle and choices, as does the entire 'Android' society? Why? Humans created the Synths, then in fear, they persecuted the Synths and eventually tried to annihilate them, so the Humans lose, somehow and as the Humans abandon the planet, the Synths in loving memory of their would be killers, faithfully copy their civilisation? That would be like Jew's emulating Nazi Germany post 1945, it makes not sense. Anyhow, the rag-tag remains of Humanity have gone to Mars; which we can infer is but a few scattered colonies, nothing overly sophisticated. So back on Earth, the entirety of the Human world industrial and military complex belongs to the Synths, yet 50 years later, somehow the Humans have built an armada of space faring vessels and have a vastly superior military, really, think about it, really? Also, the human soldier that helps, captures Peter and his wife, says that humanity did 'not know if we could breathe the air anymore'. After a mere 50'odd years, the atmosphere of Earth has altered that much - really? Further to that, the Humans have invented numerous space vessels, that carry super battle craft armada through space, but can not use a telescope to analyse Earth's atmosphere, or even send a probe satellite to sent back data? Or could this be a weak plot device to have an implausible reason to mask the humans in 'alien costumes'? Because we can analyse the likely composition of Exoworlds now, in reality in the 21st Century; we can go to Mars, Venus, even Jupiter and know with a fair degree of certainty if we could breathe the atmosphere! In one especially unctuous scene, Peter and his family are trapped in a corridor, two advancing 'alien' military personnel are firing at Peter, they keep missing; he ducks behind a wall and the soldiers don't think to hurry along, at all, they just keep firing and missing. This rather neatly, allows Peter to by-pass (some how) the biological key lock on the weapon. Suddenly, with a weapon he is not familiar with, Peter clinically and professionally dispatches the two advancing soldiers. Now, were the space travelling, Earth invading soldiers trained to use their weapon? I mean if you are going to traverse the distance from Mars to Earth, as an invading force, would your soldiers not at least become expert? But, an inexperienced, slightly confused Android such as Peter, wipes two highly trained soldiers out with pinpoint accuracy. Hmmm? Nonsense premise, woeful film. - @Sunday, October 14, 2018 7:08 PM
