I think this movie made a very important point, and that is that you if you want to have a college education, you don't have to go into debt in order to get it. Some of the most truly intelligent people in the world, are those that make a habit of reading on a regular basis. Unfortunately though in this culture, as a society our brains are basically rotting away from entertainment and whatnot. Many people seemed more concerned about if whether or not there any good shows on TV, as opposed to trying to better themselves with other education, or trying to pick up a skill that could be useful to them. Unfortunately the sixties counter-culture was no big help, is because they made learning seem not cool. One reason is that I'm a displaced Massachusetts person (a former "Masshole," as we love to call ourselves) now living in the South, and it makes me nostalgic for the Boston ambience and accents.
