As the United States raced against Russia to put a man in space, NASA found untapped talent in a group of African-American female mathematicians that served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in U.S. history. Based on the unbelievably true life stories of three of these women, known as "human computers", we follow these women as they quickly rose the ranks of NASA alongside many of history's greatest minds specifically tasked with calculating the momentous launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, and guaranteeing his safe return. Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, and Katherine Gobels Johnson crossed all gender, race, and professional lines while their brilliance and desire to dream big, beyond anything ever accomplished before by the human race, firmly cemented them in U.S. history as true American heroes.

"if you were a white male would you still want to be an Astro engineer" "i'd already BE one!" man the SJW and feminist pandering is just oozing out of this trailer, isn't it? the ending of the trailer is pretty good i'll admit. it saddens me that the first minute and a half of this trailer was mostly filled with "OMG WHITE MEN ARE SO PRIVILEGED AND COPS ARE RACIST" bs. i can easily see this movie being similar to The Suffragette, with an inspiring message to face adversity and to always follow your dreams. but unfortunately, the trailer is really driving me away from thinking Hidden Figures would be as good as Suffragette. because the first minute and a half is filled with #checkyourwhitepriveledge,#malepriviledge, #muhoppression, and last but not least #fuckthepolice, which is really sad because i see so much potential in this movie. on a slightly unrelated note, i feel as though the trailer revealed a bit too much, i feel like i watched almost the entire movie. - @Wednesday, December 6, 2017 7:08 PM
