The movie describes real events that took place in 1983, when seven young Georgians, all from intellectual elite families, attempted to flee the Soviet Union by hijacking an airliner. The crisis ended with a storming of the airliner by Soviet special forces that resulted in eight dead. The surviving hijackers were subsequently tried and executed.

When SWAT toke the plane I remember Russian propaganda make it big deal out of it but even I was 6 and I was proud of SWAT I knew something was wrong and maybe those animals where just good humans who made a mistake and that's why it end it with so little life's lost. - @Monday, March 19, 2018 8:49 AM

I remember this. It was sound so wrong cause I was angel and naive. It's sound to me people who did this where animals.but even back then when I was kid I knew something was wrong cause it take long time and cause I am god son I smell something fishy. I saw the movie on a film festival in Greece. It was a mix of Americans united 93and a bit of Argo. The acting was superb and the drama and some shocking scenes worked well. The ending was moving. I don't know if in real life these people were animals but you couldnt help of sypathize with them and kind hated the government back then who (enslaved) people in their own country taken away their choices.
