After an unknown cataclysmic event on the US West coast, a devoted father sets out on a 2000 mile journey from Chicago to rescue his daughter from Seattle. During the journey an unlikely bond develops between the father and her boyfriend as they are forced to deal with a collapse in humanity, all desperate to stay alive, still unaware of what has taken place.

More predictive programming. the 'Conspiracy Theorist" gets unnecessarily killed at the end. They do that to discredit anyone questioning the main narrative. Whitaker glorifies the military while the protagonist gets REALLY ANGRY when the guy he kills at the end brings up "Theories" on why the scenario is playing out. People are really annoying, all you want is information and information because you’re to lazy to dive into the idea that these are real people. They aren’t rocket scientists, they aren’t otherworldly beings, they are normal people trying to find a loved one. Everybody hating the movie? I liked it, 8/10. Finally (!!) a catastrophy movie showing us confused surviving people not knowing wtf is going on in the world, and we get to join that confusion, trying to guess what's happening rather than whole movie focusing on huge tidal waves and explosions without any brain activity watching it (example: 2012, Geostorm, San Andreas) This movie reminds me of TV-series Jericho, The Mist-movie and Stephen King's Storm of the Century, because all the time watching them you'll keep wondering what and why is happening. If you think this movie was bad, wait until the real thing happens. It's amazing how stupid all of you people really are. You have absolutely no discernment (to your detriment). It is because you are watching the story instead of the story within the story. It is all predictive programming. They are telling you what is going to happen to you in the near future. This movie symbolically is about the Rapture and the Tribulation. Everything is just a metaphor for something else. It does not matter to me if you don't believe it, it will not change the fact that Jesus Christ is coming back and if you are not saved, you will be under Judgment. The "strange storm" that happens is the Tribulation commencing, it will be 7 years of hell on Earth. There is a lot of symbolism if you know how to look for it. The character Will tells Meg: "Adam is coming back for you" The bible says Jesus is the last Adam. It is a reference to the Rapture of Christians. In the movie at Meg's house the radio says "and the Earth knew not until the flood swept them all away" - That is a reference to Matthew 24:37-39: 37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. It means sudden destruction will come one day and catch you unaware. It means that you will not see it coming because you are too distracted by your own sin and unbelief in Jesus and are too preoccupied with your rebellion against God.
