I'm not a big fan of jazz music, I've never heard of most of the musicians in the film. However, it's more than obvious some of the best were mentioned and captured in the film. Beautiful melodies. Why were so many jazz players strung out on drugs despite their success? Why did Lee Morgan beg Helen not to leave him, but then two days later call her a bitch and threw her out the club? Was he having an affair or was it honestly a friendship. Because in Helens recorded interview she made it sound like a love affair. The film plays it out to be something more innocent. Miles Davis was very "nasty" and it showed in his physical appearance. I'm not surprised he acted so rudely. Why was Helen so wild...- did something happen in her childhood to make her so promiscuous? She's fascinating but I'm not exactly sure why. Id' like to know more about what she did before, during, and after her time with Lee Morgan. What did she do for a living? Lee's ending is so tragic because you really don't expect that kind of ending after learning about his addiction. I'm sure most people thought the drugs would take him out, not his loyal Helen. - @Tuesday, September 26, 2017 3:43 AM

This is the first footage I've ever seen of Wayne opening up about Lee. Those two delivered amazing music together for years on the frontline under different legendary groups. I would pay any amount for an extended interview of Wayne's feelings and emotions about Morgan. - @Sunday, April 16, 2017 2:08 PM

I will never forget the night my cousin entered my room to inform me that my most cherished jazz musician "Lee Morgan" was shot dead. This appears to be a decent expose about his life. However, I am always reserved and skeptical when outsiders write about Black life. They rarely include how the deeply destructive twin social forces of Jim Crow racism and poverty impacted such geniuses. This often led to their drug abuse, hopelessness and despair. It was central and should never be written out of the script, or future generations will only get part of the story. - @Sunday, March 26, 2017 6:55 PM
