After Netflix bugged me half to insanity, I finally watched the movie today. The movie was terrible. The story line could have been so much better but it wasn't straight forward. I guess that was the point of the film, that the main character couldn't focus, but it made for impossible story telling. Not to mention that the subtitles said very different things than the dubbing. Actually the subtitles told more of what was happening and I found myself tuning out the dubbing. There were a lot of things lots in translation because I couldn't understand why some things were being done. I figure it's a cultural thing. But it wasn't explained. Also at the end, I really don't get why they start, what I would say is the makings of, another story line, only to end the movie. Why show them taking in a child only to show that story in the credits? Also I have to say, at first the two families infuriated me because they talked so badly about the main character to no end. But then later I started to hate the main character because she really was dumb as rocks. That pause thing they do in movies makes me crazy. Why do they do that?!!! 😡 why do they have people just standing with their mouths open for what seems like ages while the world is burning? I mean several times, they were firing and bombing and her dumb ass was just standing there. Then she f'ing said she wished she had materials to paint the fighting, I lost it. When she went chasing after the bird instead if taking cover. I wanted to throw the television. Then the man told her to leave the area because the bombs could still explode. What did she do? She f'ing stood there talking about drawing?!!! I'm so pissed I watched this terrible movie. I will say the art and the music is awesome. - @Monday, November 19, 2018 1:21 AM
