Those two flaws are enough to give movie very low rate ; Romero created those Zombies as half intelligent lead by black dude zombie who managed to use weapon, and also other zombies to use tools, communicate, even play instruments, swim etc...--sorry but this are no more zombies but rather retarded canibalistic killers ! Second flaw ; he shows zombies as someone with whom we should sympathize, even protect them --well this at the end was dumbest possible scene where she said when he didnt use tank against them ; "you saved them" Makes me sick ! They have eaten people alive, ripp their limbs off, eat their inner organs while victims still half alive etc...Those two flaws alone deserves to give movie 2/10 score ! They could made such good movie if they only could not turn zombie into human and sympathize with them !!! Cause acting, gore effects many other things are quite decent ! Cannot hate Romero though, maybe its a sign of aging ! ...but damn they should use that huge metal weapon truck at the end and blow them up !!!!! - @Saturday, September 6, 2014 2:43 PM

I am a big fan of Romero's earlier work, Night, Dawn and Day. They were all outstanding films. I pains me to say LOTD proved to me that Romero had nothing left to offer. Not even the 15 million dollar budget could hide his incompetence. It was a pathetic attempt to jump on the bandwagon that Boyle and Snyder got rolling again. And since then his Diary of the Dead and Survival of the Dead both proved that his malaise was a terminal condition. What can one say except R.I.P. you assume zombies are just bodies "living" to eat flesh, not thinking etc.Don't you think its only because you've seen them only like that? In Day of the Dead Romero shows a scientist trying to understand them, and we kind of see some intelligence from the zombie the doctor is keeping. It's like saying zombies are slow; no they have been represented as slow bodies but it's kind of changing in recent movies. We could also talk about video games.
