Leaving the construction site on the eve of a major project, construction manager Ivan Locke receives news that sends him driving the two hours from Birmingham to London, but even further from the life he once knew. Making the decision that he has to make, he then calls his wife, his sons, his co-workers and boss telling them the secret that he is bearing and trying to keep his job and family intact. But even more importantly, he will have to face himself and the choices he has made.

Many people miss that Ivan barely knew his one night girl.He says so in the movie.She wants him to tell her ' I love you' but he only tells her we hardly know each other because it is the truth..But he is coming to the hospital anyway.And losing his home,wife,family,and job (and nearly his life on the motorway) in the process. Everyone has their own opinion or views of this movie, for me, I found it quite intriguing and engages with you in a unique way, this isn't due to the amount of action, but rather the lack of it. Because Tom Hardy's character is the only one we see in the movie, we are forced to pay attention to him and his reactions and thought processes in a critical and quite strenuous situation, the only other contact with people we get in the movie are through the loud speaker phone calls that Hardy's "Locke" holds to communicate with the world outside his car. This presents an intriguing and strangely gripping drama effect that's difficult to capture in other, more mediocre efforts. Film is a triumph, unexpectedly. I thought that it would be shite, being so minimalist. I resisted seeing it at the cinema last year, but I just viewed it now for the first time on dvd. It's well executed, everything at once is happening to the guy, all via mobile phone. Just Locke and his BMW. An outstanding Brit film in my opinion. People need to open their minds. This is a character study, do not compare it to an action movie, it is not the same kind of entertainment. If you want the entertainment just shoved in front of your face so you can sit their and switch your brain off then do not watch this. This movie requires you to start thinking about each individual character and how they must be feeling. It is interesting and worth watching because I'm sure you can relate to some of the characters, and how the Tom Hardy' character reacts to the situation he is in is fascinating. This is a brilliant character film with an interesting premise, It's quite unique since you're always seeing Ivan Locke's (Tom Hardy) perspective. If you are looking for some sort of action film, you're not going to get one here. This film is a character drama and it follows a man who's quite literally going mad, whilst his life is falling a part around him, because of a mistake he made. Tom Hardy's performance is absolutely great as Locke, with a very believable character. As of typing this comment, I just finished watching it on Netflix. It's one of my favourite movies from 2013 if I'm completely honest.
