Biograpical epic of Malcolm X, the legendary African American leader. Born Malcolm Little, his father (a Garveyite Baptist minister) was killed by the Ku Klux Klan. Malcolm became a gangster, and while in jail discovered the Nation of Islam writings of Elijah Muhammad. He preaches the teachings when let out of jail, but later on goes on a pilgrimage to the city of Mecca, there he converts to the original Islamic religion and becomes a Sunni Muslim and changes his name to El-Hajj Malik Al-Shabazz. He is assassinated on February 21, 1965 and dies a Muslim martyr.

I liked that scene where he shows Malcolm a glass of "pure water" - telling him, how good sobriety is, and how you really need that purity... Bad robots need good code... To "filter", a sermon, a lecture, a work of writing... : To refuse the evil, and choose the good. See, Isaiah 5:20, kjv. And also, Romans 12:9, kjv... Dissimulate - to "cover up", like sunlight "hiding" behind a cloud... Sarcasm, euphemisms - examples of dissimulation? Holy Writ is as water - a necessary thing. Poetry is as wine - a luxury. The Word of God is Truth. You also need the correct interpretation. How will you understand what is written, if you do not know what words mean? Art, is useful... In the first few minutes of the movie, when you see Malcolm X being befriended by another inmate, he tells him how the editors of some English dictionaries are guilty of "systemic discrimination". Notice he says, how some words, such as black and white are defined. Black - associated with evil... White - associated with goodness.... Labels, you see? He misses an obvious one though - They call it a 'solar eclipse', rather than, a 'black sun'... Also the population of todays Israel has changed a lot over the last centuries, first with the influence of the islamic conquests and second because of today's immigration of Europeans (so called Ashkenazi Jews).
