Moana Waialiki is a sea voyaging enthusiast and the only daughter of a chief in a long line of navigators. When her island's fishermen can't catch any fish and the crops fail, she learns that the demigod Maui caused the blight by stealing the heart of the goddess, Te Fiti. The only way to heal the island is to persuade Maui to return Te Fiti's heart, so Moana sets off on an epic journey across the Pacific. The film is based on stories from Polynesian mythology.

I have two little sisters and maybe it is one of the reasons why I sometimes like to watch animated movies. „Moana“ is a quite big-budget fantasy film directed by Ron Clements and John Musker. It is a heart-warming story of a girl named Moana, who has a special connection with the ocean. She is not allowed to leave her village but after her grandmas death she decided to escape and find the stone, which causes the death of nature. Maui, who is a demigod, stealed the heart of goddess Te Fiti which has the power to create life. Maui stealed it to gift it to humanity but on his way back he was attacked by a lava monster. The stone fell from his hand and disappeared into ocean. As the story unfolds, Moana finds the stone and meets Maui, at first they didnt`t understand eachother and there were some ups and downs but they finally became friends and decided to save the islands together. Lava monster tries to stop them but Moana puts her new courage to use and replaces the heart of Te Fiti. Goddess Te Fiti returns in full bloom and the islands around Polynesia became incredible. Goddess Te Fiti even repairs Maui’s broken hook restoring his powers, which he lost in the fight with the monster. The film is moving and has a lot of sound effects, it all together brought me away from the real world for few hours. „Moana“ is for sure one of the best animation movies ever made. There didn´t exist real actors and far-fetching world but that wasn`t an obstacle. I didn´t recognise any flawed moments and suggest it to adventurous peole. - @Monday, December 4, 2017 5:19 PM

I like the film. I do wish some of the original versions weren't scrapped, but I am pleased that Moana became the main protagonist and not secondary.
