The story follows the upbringing of the human child Mowgli raised by a pack of wolves in the jungles of India. As he learns the often harsh rules of the jungle, under the tutelage of a bear named Baloo and a black panther named Bagheera, Mowgli becomes accepted by the animals of the jungle as one of their own, except for one; the fearsome tiger Shere Khan. But there may be greater dangers lurking in the jungle, as Mowgli comes face to face with his human origins.

Just finished watching this movie. I felt it necessary to speak out about how awful this movie was. When you google the cast of this movie, they don’t include the Bollywood actors and actresses. This movie was originally set with an Indian back drop. The animals had English accents. Terrible. Absolutely awful. India was an English colony. I SAW THIS GARBAGE ON NETFLIX THINKING IT WAS DISNEY'S JUNGLE BOOK. This was way too dark for children and way too stupid for adults. None of the characters were likeable (only, ONLY the poor albino puppy), and the story progressed making little to no sense. My family and I were left wondering why the fuck everyone liked "The Jungle Book" believing this mess was it. After watching this movie I realized one thing: I was more emotionally invested in this movie than I was in the Disney film. The storyline might have stumbled here and there, but the characters were each well defined and there was amazing foreshadowing. The fact that the tone of the story is a bit darker is also a very delicious treat. People assume that children cannot mentally process darker stories or that they are oblivious to the happenings of the world, but children listen and children see. Of course, the only White person in the movie has to be portrayed as a vicious and ruthless killer, and the rest are just happy-go-lucky people, frolicking around and living in peace. When, this couldn’t be further from the truth. ALL man, regardless of skin colour has killed for sport throughout time. I like both versions. They each have their own charm. Pros : 1. It's similar to the book coz it's dark 2. Loved the actor who plays mowgli. Convincing. 3. The turn of events was captivating. Direction was good. Cons: 1. Why make it so dark? It's a children's tale for God's sake The world isn't that bad . It's not a fairy take either. It's how u look at it. 2. The hunter and Bhoot plots were unnecessary and silly. I did like Bhoot, but come on. 3. If you want to change the story please don't call it Mowgli. 4. Horrible CGI. I felt like it was a computer game. I liked the movie but wouldn't watch it again. Would always go back to the Disney version.
