I was thinking this was a bit odd. If he was late 50s or early 60s or something then this would make more sense. I know that a 45 year old is not going to have the same amount of fast twitch capability as a younger person but that is offset by robustness and maturity. I would have thought that Ice hockey would be ideal for someone of 45 (unless they smoke and drink alcohol of course). I then realized that this was set about 40 years ago.
