So this movie was one of the top recommended for trippy movies similar to Vanilla Sky.. The trailer seems a bit weird, which from what I've read is normal for a David Lynch film. I found Vanilla Sky to be one of the most interesting movies I had ever seen in a very long time. So for anyone who has seen both would you recommend me checking this out? You REALLY failed. At the end of the movie he's seen holding the blue box that ultimately turns out to be the world of Diane's creation. The reason that the old couple, who seemed SO NICE in the beginning, turned out to be the demons that drove Diane to suicide is because they CREATED the box...a box where Diane WOULD be famous and fall in love with Camilla. They nudged her along at first, telling her they couldn't wait to see her in the movies. I won't go as far as to say this was GREATEST movie of all time, but there IS something about watching a mystery movie -- and feeling JUST as much a character as the characters themselves -- that DOES leave a lasting impression on you. This isn't a movie you can fully understand by watching just once (not when there's THIS many layers to the puzzle). This movie just isn't for me, I tried watching it.. And, I love detail, plot twist, character building and great dialogue. I can see why ppl like the movie, and I can relate to those who don't.. I feel this movie has so much in it, that a lot of directors took bits a pieces to build whole movies around.. A lot of creative angles, shots and very unique story telling. Those who completely despise the film are as over reacting as those who effuse unlimited praise. The Film is very entertaining only if people tried to look at each scene a bit more carefully. Regardless of whether there is meaning in the film or in the scenes, the director makes you think, look at every detail more carefully and makes you dig deeper.
