I 1st saw this classic NOT @ 1 OF THE SLEASEHOUSE THEATRES on THE ORIGINAL 42 street Times Square.. NOT @ the NOW DEFUNCT Kenmore (CORNER OF CHURCH & FLATBUSH AVES in BROOKLYN NYC) OR The NOW DEFUNCT, MONUMENTAL Rugby TWIN (on UTICA AND CHURCH AVES in BROOKLYN NYC)....OR THE GRANADA TWIN IN BROOKLYN NYC (For those BROOKLYNITES that can reach FARR back in Time)... I saw this at the NOW DEFUNCT LONG ISLAND SUNRISE MULTIPLEX back when it 1st came out back in '81... I was 9.. One of my relatives took me along with them to see this as a DOUBLE FEATURE.. (the OTHER 2ND feature was MOTHER'S DAY) EVERYONE at my elementary school was talking about this movie NIGHTMARE, and I was the ONLY 1 to have seen it... IT gave me nightmares for about a month.. I'M SO GLAD THEY HAVE NOT MADE THIS MOVIE OVER.. THAT NIGHT WHEN I 1ST SAW THIS MOVIE, it was a late night show. The movie was SOLD OUT.. There was weed smoke, and I distinctively remember some guy making a human gurgling noise to mimic one of the VIOLENT scenes of the movie... I CAN ONLY IMAGINE HOW THE SHOW was at the theatre on 42nd street.. WEED SMOKE, PEOPLE SCREAMING, JOKES MAKING THE CROWD LAUGH...................INFAMOUS TIMES FOR NYC.. - @Tuesday, January 3, 2017 11:08 PM
