Amy, her husband James and their baby Sarah travel to Mexico to sail in the yacht of their reckless friend Dan with their common friends Zach and Lauren and celebrate the thirtieth birthday of Zach. They are introduced to Dan's girlfriend Michelle and they drink and recall moments of their past while navigating. Miles away from the shore, Michelle suggest to stop the yacht and swim in the calm water. Amy stays in the boat since she has a childhood trauma with ocean and Dan stays with her. Later, the irresponsible Dan pushes Amy overboard, falling with her in a prank. Once in the water, the group realizes that Dan forgot to put the embarkation ladder and the freeboard makes impossible to climb to the main deck of the yacht. With the baby alone in the boat and stranded in the open sea, they panic and their desperation lead them to a tragic fight for survival.

They really design boats without any emergency solution to this? You would think they would put pegs on the side of the boat or something for this exact reason. It doesn't have to be just forgetting to put the latter down, people might fall overboard, etc... it seems to be a boat design flaw more than anything. Seriously? Six ADULTS are jumping of the boat and while doing so, not ONE of them thinks "Hey, at some point we may actually need to get back up here" I've been sailing, snorkeling, and scubba diving many times.. It's the "minor" details like, oh I don't know, dropping a ladder so you can get back on board that you need to remember. Wenn alle einen Kreis bilden, kann sich die leichteste Person, meist ein Mädel, mittig hochstemmen. Der andere Typ hatte sogar ein Messer dabei, damit kann man in den Schlitz an der Luke stechen und sich hochziehen. Bei Teil I hatten die beiden sogar eine UW-Kamera mit eingebauten Blitz dabei. Also wenn man in so eine Krisensituation hineingerät, Keep cool, Nachdenken, Ideen sammeln, oder ein Brainstorming bevor man vorhat, zu sterben.
