Just finished watching this movie. One of the best movies I've ever seen PERIOD I never watched the old one and I didn't even know this was a remake, until I felt compelled to look up things about this movie. Absolutely incredible. If you stay engaged throughout the entire film, you're heart will break about 5 times, you will be in the edge of your seat from start to finish and my boy, Charlie Hunnam KILLED IT! The main purpose of a movie, is to make you feel, while telling you a story. I've never felt more emotion, during a film. I loved it. I went to French Guyana a few years ago. The old prison is still there, in Saint-Laurent du Maroni. It's an impressive sight if you are known with Papillon and/or the history of the place.
