It was one of my favorite books in childhood. It held deeper meaning than just magic and fairy dust. And it was one of those that legitimately just broke my heart. Wonder if this element contributed as well in it becoming one of my favorites. Out of all the movie adaptations, this one remains the closest to the characters and story from the book. One of my favorite subtle metaphors is the one that they had to think happy thoughts besides getting fairy dust in order to fly.
