i enjoyed this movie. more than i thought i would. the curse of the black pearl has been my favorite film since the first one came out, and i've watched it too many times. johnny seemed to have lost his sparrow persona but he got it back about 20 minutes in to this movie. two plot holes were that barbossa had already been to poseidon's grave, but maybe he knew he shouldn't remove the trident or had in the past and learned of the faults with wielding that power. and the breaking of the curses made no sense, because if you have no heart, and a curse is lifted, then the magic is gone and so would still be the heart, gone along with the curse of the dutchman on the seemingly revived davy jones. other than those two things i hope they get on with another one before everyone ages too much because it was great to learn about the compass's past, and barbossa and jacks history a little further. just don't milk it, because the writing was pretty good, and there weren't any cheesy resources used for washed out jokes or bad humor. it felt just like the other films. jack and barbossa are perfect complimentary characters. please make another one, and i hope we don't have to wait too long. maybe have this dance with barbossa and jack carry on like jack has always beaten barbossa and killed him, then brought him back as a sign of good faith from the old pirate clans. which is why we see barbossa always conflicted when desiring to kill jack but never actually does. except this time barbossa wasn't killed by jack, so he even more wishes to save his old friend, but without the trident is not all magic in the world gone? unless the trident can't actually be destroyed and just replaces itself after its purpose of lifting curses has been fulfilled. - @Wednesday, September 20, 2017 3:31 PM
