Based on the life of Rich Mullins, a musical prodigy who rose to Christian music fame and fortune only to walk away and live on a Navajo reservation. An artistic genius, raised on a tree farm in Indiana by a callous father, Rich wrestled all of his life with the brokenness and crippling insecurity born of his childhood. A lover of Jesus and a rebel in the church, Rich refused to let his struggles with his own darkness tear him away from a God he was determined to love. As he struggled with success in Nashville and depression in Wichita, Rich desired most of all to live a life of honest and reckless faith amidst a culture of religion and conformity.

I don't know if this movie should have been done - apart from the fact that the actor who played Rich Mullins looked more like he should've portrayed a poor man's Curt Kobain instead, it's very doubtful if it had correctly depicted the life of Mullins as it sacrificed integrity over trying to make it overly dramatic obviously. In the movie we learned that the late christian artist smokes, get drunk, and is manically depressive out of a bad history with his father. For one thing it'd omitted certain details - such as Mullins is taking more than a lot of interest to join the catholic church before he died, which only speaks enough volumes that there really is something wrong with the late christian artist to come into such terms, as based on his statement: Christianity is meant to run its course as a community that would otherwise not function, which makes it a far too drastic misunderstanding from the truth that the collective body of believers primarily came out of finding a personal relationship with Christ first and not the other way around. If religion is the angle for the Christian Faith (et al : a formal organization of a religious assembly) then it is indeed totally amiss, thus in the case of the late Rich Mullins who even made statements that vaguely makes it unclear if he's against certain acts of perversion at all such as homosexuality. On the other hand for that matter he even stated that he can't be a fit person to be a parent and likes to profess celibacy - similar to those of the catholic clergy. Although I applaud Mullins not only for his music but also for being outspoken about certain issues that most professed christian would rather be silent upon these days, however aside from the matter that I cannot agree to everything he said and indeed God will be the ultimate judge on the late christian singer as for every person, the only thing clear is that that Mullins did lost the clear direction out of being swayed from having the central focus on the one whom all true believer should follow and the one that unites real christians who is no other than the Lord Jesus Christ. This is a great story of What GODS REAL RELATIONSHIP with each of is truly all about, in the Gospels Christ says to many depart I never new you ,well each of them were Christians, ones who felt they were worthy but none are ever worthy ITS HIS MERCY HIS LOVE AND HIS GRACE that we are even considered. This film is more than a great reminder of a gifted great man of GOD its about revealing what is GOD and what HE is not, I think I see why there wasn't much play up with this story and that is the CHURCHES lost, it displays what far too often is found through the land in the churches It 's far better to be real and honest than to portray images. Once said you can be real or high bread myself rather be real high breads are a resemblances of the real looking similar but falling short of the mark. I looked it up and it's on vudu.com which is how I've been buying movies lately (no more scratched or lost dvd's!!!! all digital). I'll buy it and watch it tonight.
