@Gencturk92 Sorry, but this is a meaningless discussion. There is no "best filmmaker in the world" and there will never be. Hitchcock made brilliant films and undoubtedly was one of cinema's most significant directors. So were Chaplin, Welles, Kurosawa, Kubrick, … Yet they made very different films. And went all down in history. So will Scorsese, Coppola… and Spielberg. He is behind some of the most important films in the late 70's and 80's, and that's what he will be remembered for. - @Monday, July 18, 2011 6:47 PM

I'm surprised no one comment on when Spielberg said "Ark of the Covenant... That was George's invention" that actually Philip Kaufman came up with the idea of the Ark. - @Sunday, July 17, 2011 9:32 AM

@Gencturk92 I apologies. I misread your original post. I thought that by owning you mean Hitchcock is debt to Spielberg. Now I know what you meant and agree with you. Spielberg has been promoted excessively much more than his talent deserves. Somewhere I heard that he was compared to David Lean. What an outrage! He has been making glorified Sunday matinées. He said it himself. The only film he made worth something is A.I. He is trying too hard to be liked and that is a big turn off for me. - @Friday, July 15, 2011 1:30 AM

Before he dies I hope he's a professor somewhere. His knowledge needs to be passed down. For the good of humanity. - @Thursday, July 14, 2011 5:48 PM

@Gencturk92 @Gencturk92 Are you really that ignorant? When Spielberg was born, Hitchcock was 47 years old. By that time, he had already made 47 films. When Spielberg was making his first short in 59 Hitchcock was on top of his game - Strangers on a Train 51, I Confess 53, Dial M for Murder 54, Rear Window 54, To Catch a Thief 55, The Trouble with Harry 55, The Man Who Knew Too Much 56, The Wrong Man 56, Suspicion 57, Vertigo 58, North by Northwest 59, Psycho 60.Spielberg has no film on this level - @Thursday, July 14, 2011 7:04 AM

The film was not shot in Technicolor. Maybe he refers that Technicolor labs did the neg and print proceeding, but that is not genuine Technicolor process. The last film in Technicolor was shot in 1955. It was revived in modified form in the mid-1990s but that was not the same nonetheless. - @Thursday, July 14, 2011 12:59 AM
