They both have personal issues, and when they start working with a younger investigative team, Perez and Riley, tensions between the two teams is inevitable, especially since Turk is now living with Perez's ex-girlfriend, also a homicide detective.

Deniro and Pacino only appeared in one scene together. The movie tried so hard to be epic and over the top that alot of the scenes felt forced. And the ending of the movie was such bullshit. Such a hollywood ending. There are too many inconsistencies in the story and that movie could have been edited a good 20 to 30 minutes. I have seen the Godfather and I thought the movie was brilliant and the script was well written so my attention span is just fine. I'm a fan of Tarantino so I can listen to good dialogue for hours and not have to see action. People are just blind to a bad movie like Heat because of the big time names that are in the cast. There is nothing memorable about Heat as there were memorable things in Godfather or Goodfellas. Of course it wasn't as good as supersuccessful De Niro-Pacino collaboration in Heat (1995) but still watchable. The storyline was great but the ending was predictable though. Anyway Rober De Niro, Al Pacino. Carla Gugino, John Leguizamo, Donnie Wahlberg did a great job. Sorry 50 Cent's fans, but he can't act at all. Yes, he tries but it looks ridiculous and miserable.
