It's Corporations that allowed these people to make alot of money when they otherwise wouldn't have... but they only look at the negativity.. Sad their country club life ended... but It's called progress. Deal with it....as I have many times thruout my career. You are an idiot Michael Moore. - @Tuesday, September 4, 2018 7:47 AM

Boy he's really fallen from grace since then. R&M was a largely nonpartisan criticism of GM and the corporate greed that led to its downfall. Then Hollywood got him and he turned into a narcissistic partisan clown - @Wednesday, November 16, 2016 5:27 PM

This documentary was decades too late even in 89, and it barely scratches the surface. It wasn't just corporate greed that sunk the likes of Detroit (and the late great USA), it was the money changers relocating their empire to China. - @Monday, March 16, 2015 7:59 PM

I never realized how evil Micheal Moore was until I saw this.  Now Detroit Michigan is a smoldering wasteland because of him and his message and he's worth 50 million. http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2011/11/12/article-2060704-0EC68DD100000578-441_634x586.jpg - @Friday, February 13, 2015 2:35 AM

The reason GM and all of these guys are gone is because of better competition overseas and not having to deal with a bunch of over entitled smutbag's like we have here in America today.  Take, Take, Take, but give nothing in return!! - @Tuesday, August 19, 2014 7:25 AM

The reason GM, and all manufacturing companies are failing in the US is, every other country in the world have national healthcare.  Healthcare adds $3-5000 to every car built in the US.  German, Japan, Korea all have nation healthcare. - @Sunday, June 8, 2014 3:37 AM

The real reason that GM downsized in Flint was that the big three automakers could not be a high quality reliable car.  Roger Smith tried to battle the imports by creating Saturn, but the UAW and GM sabotaged it and Saturn would up just becoming another GM division.  I had one of the last Saturn SL2's which were still independent of anything else that their parent company built, I had problems but it lasted 17 years before I traded it in for a Toyota Corolla LE.  I hate to say it but the only way to build a good US built car is to have a company like Honda, Toyota or even Hyundai open a US plant and use non union labor and train them into building cars to their high standards.  Ironically the car with the most US Content and built in the USA is the Toyota Camry.  Because of tariffs the majority of Hondas and Toyotas are built in North America.   After driving my Corolla, I see why Toyota became the World's largest automaker, surpassing GM.  Unlike the big three which I frequently bought new and had to take it back dealer service a couple of days because of various problems.  I have had no problems with Toyota. - @Thursday, December 26, 2013 3:05 AM

The movie is just as important today as it was in 1989. Free trade is the biggest offender in all of this followed closely by corporate/wall street greed. The American worker is being cut down in favor of foreign workers/countries. This can all be traced back to the ( privately run ) federal reserve and the use of the U.S dollar as the worlds default currency. - @Tuesday, October 16, 2012 1:15 PM

Blaming union workers is like the captain of the Titanic blaming the sinking on the cooks in the galley. "THEY SENT UP DECAF COFFEE AND EVERYONE ON THE BRIDGE DOZED OFF AND DIDN'T SEE THAT BIIIG ICEBERG. IT'S THE COOK'S FAULT!!!!!!! NOW WHERE'S MY MILLION DOLLAR SEVERANCE CHECK?" Don't you think that the CEO of a Fortune 500 Co. has better things to do than to sit down and do an interview with a buffoon in a baseball hat like Michael Moore? At the time, Moore didn't have any real journalist credentials. Would you interrupt your busy schedule to go on record with someone you never heard of? Do you think you could get an interview with the CEO of Apple, Google, Microsoft, or any big time company just because you wanted an interview? Are you that naive? - @Monday, October 1, 2012 6:34 PM

So let me get this straight. You show up at the Headquarters of GM unannounced, with a film crew and expect to see the CEO of the company? What company would allow for this? If you tried this at any company, the security people would be on top of you in a second. And yet we are supposed to believe this is credible? You would have to be a moron to believe this. And yet some of those who praised this POS simply ignored this salient fact. We live in interesting times as the Chinese have said. - @Saturday, September 8, 2012 8:49 PM

Blaming unions is like the Captain of the Titanic blaming the sinking on the cooks in the galley. "THEY SENT UP DECAF COFFEE AND ALL OF US ON THE BRIDGE DOZED OFF AND DIDN'T SEE THAT BIG ICEBERG AHEAD. ITS THE COOK'S FAULT!!!!" Roger Smith and GM execs were as dumb then as Rick Wagoner was until Obama threw him out. Blaming unions and outsourcing merely covered that up. - @Monday, July 16, 2012 3:49 PM

airdriver
One way to solve A LOT of the USA's problems is to BRING BACK EVERY SINGLE JOB THAT'S BEEN SENT TO MEXICO, INDIA AND CHINA SINCE 1980. More people working here means more people paying income taxes which means more money for police, fire, libraries. It also means more people buying homes which provides money for schools through property taxes.. And get this, WE WON'T HAVE TO TAX THE RICH EITHER. So EVERYONE BENEFITS!!!! Think about it, CHILDREN!!! - @Monday, July 16, 2012 3:43 PM
