I've been writing product reviews for Amazon for 10 years, and and have never had a single review rejected. However, I have submitted three different versions of the following review of Sleeping Beauty, and all have been rejected--with no explanation. "A haunting film that stays with you long after the credits are done rolling, Sleeping Beauty delivers one body blow after another to the system of power that rules our lives. Describing to Lucy the "no-penetration" safety clause in her new job sleeping with rich men, The Madam concludes by saying, "your vag**a is a temple." "No. It's not," Lucy quickly replies, showing, despite her youth, what already she has learned about a world in which everything has its price--where in fact, NOTHING is sacred. Both as a university student taught to expand the limitless frontiers of capital, and as a low-end employee subjected to the indignities of the workplace, Lucy knows of what she speaks.
