In a futuristic society, some people are selected at birth to become soldiers, and trained in such a manner that they become inhuman killing machines. One of the most succesfull and older of these soldiers (Russell) is pitted against a new breed of soldiers, and after the confrontation is believed to be dead. His body is left behind in a semi-abandoned colonial planet, where everything is peaceful, and he is taught about the other aspects of life. But eventually he has to fight the new breed of soldiers again, this time to defend his new home...

I've just watched the movie and it was good. The trailer is BS (inappropriate music and narration) but a complete opposite of what I've felt after watching the movie. It's a mixture of the terminator 2, rambo, and equilibrium thrown in for good measure. For me, it's a movie that makes you really want to kill the bad guys so badly. decent old movie, reminds me of cadets. (to the jealous one. do you understand?) his name is Todd, which also means death in german. i will also mention, the gentically modified soldier are the imperial guard from warhammer 40k. they have a heavy bolter, and flamer visible. i played chaos. warhammer 40K has sort of racist beginnings. imperial guard = britain space marines = america, chaos also being an offshoot of america, like mercenaries. the orks = black people of the era. (look at modern day africa and look at a warlord.) the eldar = advanced asian cultures. example of the era japan. spliced with native american lore. later the tyranid, but thats alien and leads to the beginning of starcraft also. do misunderstand, very creative. wonderful art works in those books also. (why not the germans for chaos? well unless someone really fucked up. the germans were technologically and strategically advanced compared to america at that time. so id assume they are mercenaries.) that is of course unless its the transverse, the space marines are germany and america later stole their technologies and tactics. <- yes, that would mean americas the bad guy in that situation. have you figured out what they where actually after on the beach of normandy yet? as i said, its a question. for what? i already know all the answers, but i want you to figure it out yourselves. it took 2 tries though. victims? really? hmmm? - @Saturday, April 28, 2018 9:21 PM

I can't believe this film has a 12% score on rottentomatoes. I watched it expecting some bottom of the barrel schlock and ended up enjoying a pretty decent, albeit somewhat formulaic movie. At least it doesn't try to overreach, and what good ideas it does have it manages to follow through successfully. I confirm this is set in the Blade Runner Universe. At exactly 6:31 into the movie, the Combat History of Todd 3465 lists both The Battle At Tannhauser Gate, and Shoulder of Orion. Todd was shown as a baby in the beginning so it makes it rather unclear if he is a replicant. My thinking is his unit may have been one of many during both battles with both human and replicant soldiers fighting. The last replicant in Blade Runner "Roy Batty" (played by Rutger Hauer) has a monolog before he dies. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the Shoulder of Orion.
