Rachel is a lawyer. When she was in law school she fell for another student, Dex, who comes from an affluent family, but she was too shy to say anything. When Dex meets her best friend Darcy, who sometimes treats her like dirt, Darcy makes a move on Dex and gets him. Eventually, they get engaged and Darcy asks Rachel to be her Maid of Honor. However, Rachel still has feelings for Dex and still can't say anything. Darcy throws her a birthday party and Dex is there. When she and Dex are alone she blurts out that she had a thing for him in college which surprised him, and after drinking a little they spend the night together. They try to forget the whole thing and agree that it means nothing. Ethan, Rachel's close friend, tells her that she'll spend her entire life regretting that if she does nothing.

Anyone judging these characters has never been in a similar situation. Rachel was clearly a very timid girl who wasn't willing to stand up for herself even for true love. She let Darcy walk all over her and this story is focused on the time she fought back. If you learn anything from this story it should be to always stand up for what you want and believe in. Sitting back and letting life just happen to you almost always causes friction and drama that you don't need...Even when your best friend demands your compliance- fight back! It should also teach you that not all friendships are meant to last! They're here for a reason, a season, or for lifetime... You definitely shouldn't cheat. Really come on people. It's entertainment, a movie, chick flick about people effing up. I didn't come out of this thinking cheating was okay, I still enjoyed it. Didn't go in looking for some life lesson geez. I'm glad she didn't end up with Ethan, glad Dexter wasn't some tool screwing around with them (still in the wrong), they got their scary confrontation and went on living their separate lives they wanted.
