The 1971 BBC version of Sunset Song was really outstanding. I remember being so moved and impressed by this adaption, that I wrote to the Beeb congratulating them - first and only time! All the actors were first rate - Chris in particular: beautiful voice - and the musical score was quite outstanding; creating the perfect mood of passionate intensity, longing, hope and regret.
