Amanda and Dawson are soul mates who met as teens and were from different backgrounds. But circumstances would force them to part ways. 20 years later they are brought back together by the passing of a mutual friend. So they go back home to fulfill his final wishes and they run into each other. While Amanda is married, albeit unhappily, she still has feelings for Dawson but can't forgive him for pushing her away.

Nicholas Sparks stories always have the same trend. Boy meets girl, they fall in love. Something happens to the boy and they get separated. Many years down the line when they are all adults, then something happens to the guy and the girl finds him again. They rekindle old love ship, resolve past and present issues and live happily ever after. Yet somehow everytime, its a good story to read/movie to watch. This will be a good movie if it's not really based on a book. But it is actually based on a book, a good one, so i think it kinda sucks.
