Quadripeligic ex-cop Lincoln Rhyme was looking forward to his assisted suicide when he got the news: some sicko was abducting people in a taxi and leaving them to die in particularly sadistic ways. With time counting down between each abduction and possible death, Rhyme recruits rather-unwilling Amelia Donaghy, haunted by her cop father's suicide and thinking she's next, into working the crime scenes to track down the killer.

most of the people who loved this probably have NOT read the books. i personally loved the books but hated this movie. it was just so wrong in a lot of places. rhyme is nowhere near like this in the book. he does not smile or make jokes. amelia's name was changed. and it does not have the same eerie feeling as it is when you're reading the book. anybody remember that poor woman whose lower body was boiled until the bones show? :D this movie is nothing compared to the book. - @Monday, June 13, 2016 12:41 PM

Very excellent movie and felt so bad for VNDenzel Washington nothroughout the VNwhol movie for the at py he was injured in the beginning was so brutal!!! A deleted concept was the killer VNis also norevealed to have VNpushed VNthe beam that crushed VNlincoln rhyme in nothe VNsubway BMWtunnel!!! SPOILER: I knew who the killer was the second he appeared. It was sooo obvious. His role had no other purpose. They even showed his creepy eyes. The only reason I thought of he might not be the killer was if they wanted everyone to believe he was and then make it someone else, but no... It just was that obvious. It's not a bad movie though. The book is great.The movie is good try to make book alive, but it still don't stand close. You see in the book, there is so much much more action, and chemistry between Amelia and Rymes. you cant really see the relationship evolve in the movie, how it does in the book.
