This can not be blamed on China's head, but it has nothing to do with the state system. Wall Street is ripping off you, not China. Those bankers and traders helped Chinese weak companies to list in the United States. They do not care about whether the shareholders are losing or whether they are profitable. All they need to do is to list an obscure company, then blow it up, sell it, and make profits for its shareholders. That's it. This video is an anti-China propaganda. Capitalism is an ideology created by crooks to legitimize their ill gain via wrongful and morally defunct means. Those Chinese companies in the video played the American books and rules in the USA like everybody else. The video needs to ask why are not the American governments doing their jobs protecting the Americans instead of blaming the ones profiting within the American system. Besides Chinese companies listed in the Video hardly understand English not to mention the complicated loopholes in the American legal and financial systems, most likely they were the tools of the American capitalist swindlers. The video portrayed the Chinese companies as perpetrators instead of scapegoat, it is simply reflecting the American’s mindset stalled in the old days of colonialism, constrained in the zero-sum cold war mentality and orientalism culture. The short sellers are hypocrites; they want the cake as well as eat it too on the high horse. I have no idea what the doc is referring to, but even if it is all true, it still distorts what is happening in China. There are a lot of legitimate and normal businesses in China that don't get reported on. They do not get reported on because it would not be sensational like this. Everything about PRC China is either totally negative or positive. It is hardly ever objective it seems. I have run into legit and companies that are basically empty trading companies in China.
