I like the genre, (28 days later, Shawn Of The Dead,.) but this movie could have been so much more. When I heard that this was an IFC movie, I was really hoping for a different take. It had one for most of the movie, and the discriminatory comparisons of how we wrongly treat ex convicts, and terrrorists, was compelling. Great movie, love the fresh take on ‘Zombie Outbreak Flick’, but it really bothers me that the former ‘infected’ show no signs of physical wear-and-tear from their time spent as zombies. I mean, main dude was infected for 4 years, yet somehow his appearance, once ‘cured’, shows no signs of prolonged sickness or physical damage that would seem typical of someone infected for such a long period of time. Think about it; if you’re infected for even a few months, your human form is going to reflect the ongoing neglect and physical trauma that comes with being a ‘zombie’.
