NO SPOILERS!! Am i the only one that disliked the movie? This could have been great, but the plot felt very rushed and all over the place. Because they already differed from the books, i think they should've made the story suit a movie better. I don't mean take out any major plot points. Just leave out the unnecessary little acts and focus more on making the relationships with characters feel important, and on the buildup for the end. I'm not disappointed in the ending, it's good to have something different. Not all movies are supposed to go happily like u want them. Still i'm generally disappointed the wasted potential. I finished the novel recently and am proud that this adaptation followed the book quite close minus a few deviations. Would love to see the rest of the series presented on screen, which of course would involve new actors playing the main characters who are the right ages. here’s my review on this movie : i honestly feel like this would’ve been better if it was a TV show. it felt so rushed and i didn’t even feel a connection with any of the characters. also since it was Pg13 , it was kinda silly when the characters got mad. it would’ve been better if it was rated R , had more time for the characters to fall in love ( Liam and Ruby ) , had more time so we can know the back stories of the characters ( the only one we really know is of Ruby. We don’t know much about Chubbs , Zu , or Liam). ( I would’ve liked the movie a lot more if we got some backstories about them , and I’m pretty sure Zu only had one line , if any!) i would give this movie a 5/10 , it had lots of potential , and it would’ve been better as a TV series. - @Sunday, November 18, 2018 11:51 PM
