Roger Miret and Vinnie Stigma are lynch pins of New York Hardcore (NYHC), and their band Agnostic Front played a key role in defining, shaping and establishing the cultural code of conduct for the still-thriving movement. Film and Music Video Director Ian McFarland (Rungs in a Ladder: Jacob Bannon, The Outlaw: Dan Hardy, The Problem Solver:Joe Lauzon, Meshuggah, Killswitch Engage, Fear Factory, Agnostic Front) is crafting an intimate portrait of the two industry leaders, two of the most respected individuals in the 35-year history of hardcore punk music. In addition to inspiring and nurturing multiple generations of bands that followed their lead, Miret and Stigma have remained close friends through great adversity that sometimes threatened their very existence.

They have their bloody fingers in every little hardcore scene all around the globe, so they are true ‚godfahters’. But also in a good and supporting sense, therefore to me they are as true as hardcore can be. I came across ‚cause for alarm‘ in ´86 at the same time as ˋXXX-Flex your head´. To a 16 year old boy this was really some kind of christening or communionn or you name it. It was a really good time and still have it with their records and gigs! Roger’s cool as hell and probably the most down to earth of any of these Celebrity Hardcore dudes, but ANOTHER NYHC documentary? If you take a step back it’s hard not to see how AF put out one seminal Hardcore album, then a bunch of albums basically following whatever trend was current at the time - Riot Riot Upstart sounds like Rancid playing Hardcore with Roger singing, Another Voice sounds like Hatebreed with Roger singing. At this point NYHC is the musical equivalent of the old guy at the bar who peaked in high school and won’t let you forget it. “Yea yeah, the LES/The Scene was SO crazy back in the day. Godfather's doesn't mean founders or forefathers. Just means they're heavily associated with the term 'Hardcore' and the particular scene they come from, which did help influence and kick down doors for a whole generation after them. I watched Agnostic Front play at Rockfest 2016. They were one of most anticipated acts that day but I was blown away .
