Ben Randall is a Coast Guard rescue swimmer. When his crew is killed in an accident and his marriage ends, his commander tells him he wants Randall to go to the US Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer "A" School to train other rescue swimmers. He encounters a guy named Jake who's a little cocky because he was once a swim champion. So Ben puts him through the wringer to see if he can handle it.

I like this movie because Ashton Kutcher was perfectly cast for it. I remember reading about when they were filming this movie they trained with actual coast guard rescue swimmers. They were impressed with Kutcher's ability in the water. He grew up swimming and they said he could have easily passed the training school had he ever applied. - @Saturday, January 9, 2016 4:00 AM

Highly recommend this movie. Kevin Costner, Ashton Kutcher, Sela Ward and ALL of the other Actors were perfectly matched for their roles. Don't let the movie trailer fool you into thinking it's strickly a "Man's" movie cause it's not. This movie has something for everyone! A great storyline, w/a good beginning, middle, all tied up with the perfect ending (it's a bit of a heartbreak, but that's life -For Real). I've watched it every year since it's release.
