Far better than any buddy cop comedy in the last 27 years. Woods and Michael J were a great team. No one can call someone a "Little cockroach" like James Woods and no one can be as wonderfully obnoxious as Michael J. I think this movie even inspired an X-Files episode. It's funny the things a person remembers from their childhood. This trailer was my first brush with seeing an intense cop thriller on the big screen and it kind of freaked me out. Sure, today, as an adult it seems like nothing special... but, seeing it on the big screen was frightening because I was an eight year old with a sensitivity to loud sound. The Duane Eddy and Art of Noise rendition of Peter Gunn blasted in my ears, the guns firing, the in-your-face intense yelling... I was covering my ears and experiencing heart palpitations. Now, I was not what you would call your average kid, which is why all that freaked me out instead of excited me.
