Did any of you "racist shills", even watch the "movie trailer" "Henrietta Lacks" own family & family's lawyer said that it was foul play & that they stole her cells. "Now asks yourself"... "What color was the doctor's & scientist's"?... "Now asks yourself"... Why when "Henrietta Lacks" daughter (Played by Oprah) first came in face to face contact with the women (journalists/reporter/investigator) after first talking to her on the phone asking about wanting to do a story on her mother's (Henrietta Lacks) God Cell (Which the actual scientist's dubbed the name for her cells)... Why when seeing this women ( journalists/reporter/investigator), her daughter (Played by Oprah) said and I quote "I hope I'm not going to regret this" Now asks yourself... Did she said that because, the women was mean to her (No)... Was it because the women was nice to her (No)... It was because she was (White)... Back then, people of color had plenty of reasons not to trust white people the men & the women (Still true today in all parts of America)... Yet it wasn't because of no reason at all, as history has showed us... Now before all the "Racist Zombies" come trolling me, just think (If you have the ability too), you might not like it but facts is facts. The movies wasn't no fairy tale nor for your entertainment... It was based on a true story, the very sad part is I don't think her (God Cells) that they stole helped one single black person, going by the research it help Europeans & other Non-Negro groups around the world (Most likely sold to the highest bidder's). I know it's a hard pill of truth to swallow "Racist Zombies" but truth always destroys lies... If your still "Boiling Racist Mad" write "Henrietta Lacks" family about the matter and see what they say. Sincerely "A Meek Negro Male" I like studying the word (Holy Bible), Keeping the commandments (To the best of my abilities, I'm not perfect), Researching (Facts Based Logic). - @Wednesday, October 3, 2018 11:13 PM

I learnt in my first biochemistry class about HeLa cells... I still remember the teacher saying ''All of us will die someday, but part of her will live on forever... and that part will help improve countless other lives.'' I thought it was touching, until I researched that woman... she was treated horribly, and died in pain, and it's that pain, that cancer, that will live on forever... that pain that will help other people. She deserved better, and I hope wherever she is, she's at peace. - @Saturday, April 7, 2018 2:58 AM

It is so incredible to me that this woman's cells are the first inmortal cells to be discovered and one of the most important discoveries in scientific history, yet, her famili had no idea until 20 years later. The white scientists who "took" her cells are the true heroes. Can anyone name me a single solitary contribution or achievement from Henrietta Lacks, and her black family? Consciously I mean. Literally name me one. ONE. - @Sunday, October 1, 2017 6:14 PM

This story really just shows how powerful African Americans//Africans are, and how little our culture knows about our history. Sad honestly. I hope we wake up!! Remember we were kings and queens on the mother land before we were slaves. 👑 - @Sunday, September 24, 2017 5:19 AM

Having already learned lots about Mrs. Lacks years ago I was excited to see this film. FOR ME - this was not really a film about Henrietta Lacks, but like Lawrence Lacks, her oldest son an Executor of her Estate says, it was more about exploiting her story for various ulterior motives. My claim is this film is just a typical propaganda piece designed to present just another white person saving or coming to the defense of those poor black people (I'm white by the way). It is also a vehicle for a similar motive dishonestly implying that Oprah has stepped in to tell this story about the Lack's family that hasn't been told - making Oprah a hero to her people? Before I give a couple of supporting facts; you can easily verify or nullify my claims by watching the famous Adam Curtis 1998 BBC documentary to see so much of what was left out this version and how important those deletions are to have given the FULL credit that Henrietta so so so much deserves. The most disgusting thing to me is the way they portray Deborah and the other Lacks family members they chose; presenting them in a most negative manor as if half-off and re-enforcing typical negative stereotypes about "blacks." Compare Oprah's selection of Lack's family members and how most people would react to HOW they are presented to the OTHER just as close and even closer family members selected and HOW Adam Curtis presents them. One other point; this film drastically under-represents the incredible accomplishments and the incredible uniqueness Mrs. Lacks stolen cells GAVE to the whole world; especially those aspects related to black people. Don't take my word for any of what you just read - check it our for yourself, google "The Way Of All Flesh" Adam Curtis and choose the the less edited 58 minute version over the 53 minute version. The comparison between these two vastly different versions - speaks for itself; with zero help from my comments needed. - @Tuesday, September 12, 2017 9:49 AM

The lengths to which racist white people have exploited black people knows no boundaries. That's why they get so upset when it's pointed out. Without the exploitation a lot of them have no identity - @Monday, September 11, 2017 2:26 AM

I am glad this story is brought to light and I'm mostly white. I'm a little Native, but not at least half Native so I had to switch schools so that the 8 girls that were jumping the white girls wouldn't put me in the hospital for something my ancestors did. My neighbor who I was hoping to be friends with when I was a kid chased me and my dog down the street with her brother and a bunch of kids throwing rocks at me because I'm white. I'm sure it's because some other white people mistreated them. 2 wrongs don't make a right. Hating white people is just as bad as hating any race. I was taught to love everyone. I participated in a March when my street name was changed to Martin Luther King Jr. Way. I was so proud that racism didn't exist anymore. I was a naive 5 year old. It didn't take long before my friends started calling me honkey and being mean to me because someone else was mean to their parents. I am a firm believer in righting the wrongs of yesterday. I don't deny they exist or want to wash over them, but you are not going to get anywhere by bashing people now. - @Thursday, September 7, 2017 4:36 PM
