Tony Musante' was a great actor with too few good roles either accepted by him or offered to him. Their is a lot of realism in this movie....with subject matter that few would chance to risk. I believe the ability or choice to stand up in a situation like this is not exactly as much a question of courage as it is knowing yourself. No, Harry doesn't fail at being a man. The woman stood up, the woman pushed the two instigators... I'm not saying what she did was right or wrong... But clearly when she got afraid of what she did and how they where coming onto her she took all he aggression out on her husband.... Their relationship was weak. If it was strong they would've talked to each other and come up with a plan.... It's easy to say Harry wasn't a man... This movie is almost 50 years old, but it illustrates the problem with today's Americans. We've become completely passive, we're taught not to fight when we should be standing up for ourselves.
