In Paris, the aristocratic and intellectual Philippe is a quadriplegic millionaire who is interviewing candidates for the position of his carer, with his red-haired secretary Magalie. Out of the blue, Driss cuts the line of candidates and brings a document from the Social Security and asks Phillipe to sign it to prove that he is seeking a job position so he can receive his unemployment benefit. Philippe challenges Driss, offering him a trial period of one month to gain experience helping him. Then Driss can decide whether he would like to stay with him or not. Driss accepts the challenge and moves to the mansion, changing the boring life of Phillipe and his employees.

I can't believe dumb french frogs think this version is better. Who the hell are these actors? Least in The Upside you have probably the best comedic actor in last 20 years in Kevin Hart and Bryan Cranston from the best ever tv series breaking bad, then Nicole Kidman Australia's greatest actress ever and top 10 in Hollywood. Also least upside is in English, so don;t have read dumb subtitles, lastly The upside comes across way more touching and sincere, this looks silly and like an amateur filmmaker made it. Came from the upside trailer cause everyone said it was a remake of this and I just have to say I love this movie already just by the trailer alone😍. But wth America? (Lol my country) you should of just named it untouchables U.S version, just copied EVERYTHING no changes but the cast smh wow... and honestly Kevin Hart and Tiffany haddish aren’t the only good black actors/actresses. I came here from an article I read (I've already seen the original movie, just was unclear if I remembered the title correctly), then read in the comments about an American remake. Just saw the trailer for the remake and honestly... I laughed. I of course LOVE the original, it makes me cry and laugh everytime I watch it. It's a beautiful movie. And maybe it's the music in the trailer or the mood I'm in right now but I still really liked it. Same story, but they both have a different feel to it because of the actors.
