Is it me or does this movie look nothing like the 80's? I mean look at their disco outfits, they look like they were going to a club in '98 - @Monday, October 29, 2018 5:12 PM

Note the clothes and hair are all 1990s...they must have had no budget for that - @Friday, October 19, 2018 3:23 PM

One of the most pretentious pieces of crap that i have ever watched. The only thing i liked about this movie is seeing Kate Beckinsale dressed in a sexy halter top disco outfit. - @Saturday, October 22, 2016 3:29 AM

I thought this movie was about the beginning of yuppies and the end of college youth. How the people in the movie were transitioning in their lives from just being, to trying to be something. - @Thursday, October 13, 2016 2:29 AM

this movie doesnt even begin to describe the disco days, the songs ? they were'nt playing these songs in the last days, it was transitioning to just plain old dance music, all they did was get rid of the name, changed it to a club something, I agree the old stuff was horrible. Basically its about going out dancing, TO DANCE MUSIC, not stuff that you cant dance to, one song comes to mind, A/C D/C Back in Black, just one example of many, it was a movement against the lifestyle, but the lifestyle where I went clubbing , was'nt built off from drugs, yes we drank some, but if you were driving home, and a lot did, you had to keep it to a minimum , Cops were'nt as bad until you got the people who would act up and ruin it for everyone else, we smoked some pot, sometimes did some speed to boost your energy, dexatrim comes to mind, there were times nothing, like I said very minimal amounts, thats it. This was in the North East, never saw anyone doing cocaine , extacy, or any other hard substance, all the clubs I went to were strict about anything illegal, they did'nt want to be shut down, it was about dancing and looking to hook-up with girls, and anything that was called a disco, basically just changed to a club, the movement to kill disco moved on, and the people who liked to dance went to the clubs, there was a mild drought of good dance music in the early 80's, then in the late 80's and early 90's, it came back, had college kids getting into the dance movement, then it started to fade again in the late 90's. Those days were fun, 77 and on, drive-in Movies, played pool at the bowling Alley, Roller Skating, (not disco), hung out at the Beach, went Parking with your girl, most guys had a hot rod, riding up and down main street, and yes you had to fit your job in there somewhere, Sleep was a minimum , Great Days !! Lot of History has depicted Disco Days as a Drug, infested Orgy, with people dressed up in wild get ups, Sorry, I've been to my share of what they call Disco's, not close to what history describes - @Saturday, January 16, 2016 5:26 AM

when it came out, obviously i knew it was not about DISCO.  i think the DISCO and the music is a metaphor for the young men and women, in the movie...holding onto their "youth" or their "last days of holding on before being full grown adults"  LOL.   disco became the norm or became mainstream around 1976 until 1980?  almost the same amount of years young men and women are in college.   but the characters here are still trying to "grow up" but can't or won't because they simply want to hold on as long as they can.  Disco music existed long, long before the mid 70s.   the disco era is when it became mainstream and represented a time of hope and innocence that would have to end.   the party is over for these people and adulthood is inevitable.  (and i probably said everything that all of you already know....so this entry is pointless...:() - @Monday, December 28, 2015 9:14 AM

why is kate beckinsale and chloe sevigny dressed like it's 1999? Doesn't this movie take place in the 1980's?! - @Saturday, November 21, 2015 8:12 PM

this came out some time around 54, but was a way better movie.  I captured a club scene without going over the top. Funny lines, and captured the vulnerability you have when you go to a club. And some movies show disco scenes where everyone is good at partner dancing, which just wasn't true. Many just go back and forth like Beckinsale, in one of her better roles. Not everyone can crush it on the dance floor like me. - @Saturday, May 31, 2014 2:11 PM

People expecting a movie about Disco will be disappointed. But this movie is much better than any movie about Disco. I highly recommend it, along with Walt Stillman's Metropolitan. As miladymell mentions, it absolutely gets better with each viewing (it's a lot like Fargo in this sense). - @Friday, June 28, 2013 2:48 AM

EVERYTHING - from the hairstyles, the lingo and the clothing - smacks of '90s young adult culture. The Last Days Of Disco? Just because the soundtrack consists of the most overplayed tracks from the late '70s? AND THEN only the ones that were embraced by white kids? If you were REALLY there as I was, your cocaine intake should have numbed that part of your sensory recall. This movie is a travesty, and a total rewrite of a glorious time in history. - @Wednesday, December 12, 2012 5:20 AM
